How ESPN ADP differs from Sleeper and Yahoo

ESPN is the largest public drafting pool in fantasy football, and most ESPN drafts are autopilot drafts — the room follows ESPN's default rankings. That keeps veteran, name-brand players artificially early and pushes rookies and breakout candidates later than they go on Sleeper or Underdog.

ESPN's default scoring is half PPR, and its draft-room order is famously sticky. If you prepare on a consensus board but draft on ESPN, the biggest edges come late: young receivers and second-string running backs slide a round or more past their consensus ADP.

Reading the ESPN ADP board

The ESPN ADP column is the average pick number in ESPN leagues; the consensus column is the six-platform average. A player with an ESPN ADP well later than consensus is an ESPN-specific value — the room will let you wait.

A player going earlier on ESPN than consensus is being propped up by the default rankings. If you want him, you have to pay the ESPN tax; otherwise let someone else reach.
