ADP rankings vs expert rankings

Expert rankings tell you what one analyst believes. ADP rankings tell you what thousands of drafters are actually doing. Both are useful, but only one of them predicts when a player will come off the board in your league.

The most efficient draft strategy uses expert rankings to build your personal tiers and ADP rankings to decide when to take each tier. If a player you have in tier three is going in tier five's ADP range, you can wait and still get him.

Reading the ADP rankings board

Each row shows overall ADP rank, position, NFL team, current ADP, 24-hour and 7-day movement, projected fantasy points for your scoring format, and a draft tier. Sort by any column to reshape the board around whatever matters for your league.

Tiers matter more than exact ranks. Two players separated by four ADP spots inside the same tier are effectively interchangeable; a one-spot gap across a tier break is a real drop in expected production.

Format-specific ADP rankings

Scoring changes ADP rankings materially. Full PPR pushes high-volume receivers and pass-catching backs up the board; Standard pushes early-down runners and touchdown scorers up. Superflex moves quarterbacks into the first two rounds entirely.

Frequently asked questions

What are ADP rankings?
ADP rankings are a fantasy football player list ordered by average draft position — the real pick number players are being drafted at across public leagues — rather than by an analyst's projections.
Are ADP rankings better than expert rankings?
They answer different questions. ADP rankings tell you when a player will be drafted; expert rankings tell you how good an analyst thinks he is. Use both together to find value.
Do ADP rankings change by scoring format?
Yes. PPR raises receivers and pass-catching backs, Standard raises volume runners and touchdown scorers, and Superflex pulls quarterbacks into the first two rounds.
How many players are in the ADP rankings?
ADPWire ranks the top 250 fantasy football players, covering QB, RB, WR, TE, K, and DST.
